AH36 is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel primarily used in shipbuilding and marine engineering, complying with International Maritime Organization (IMO) and classification society standards. It is designed to meet the special requirements of marine environments while ensuring structural strength.
AH36 features a balance of high strength and good toughness, with a yield strength of no less than 355MPa, capable of withstanding complex stresses in hull structures. It has excellent weldability, suitable for continuous welding processes in shipbuilding, and offers moderate resistance to seawater corrosion. Chemically, it contains up to 0.18% carbon, 0.70%-1.60% manganese, and small amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, with strict impurity control to ensure stable mechanical properties.
Its applications focus on shipbuilding, including key components like hull shells, decks, and bulkheads, as well as offshore platform support structures. In the construction of large cargo ships, oil tankers, and container vessels, AH36 is a mainstream choice due to its reliable performance, adapting to dynamic loads and corrosive marine conditions.
