Q355NH weathering steel generally adopts such process routes as concentrate in furnace - smelting (converter, electric furnace - microalloying treatment - blowing argon -LF refining - low superheat continuous casting (feeding rare earth wire) - controlled rolling and cooling.
During smelting, waste steel is added into the furnace together with the charge, and it is smelted according to the conventional process. Deoxidizer and alloy are added after the release of Q355NH weathering steel. After the molten steel is blown with argon, it is then cast.
Due to the addition of rare earth elements in the Q355NH weathering steel, the Q355NH weathering steel is purified and the inclusion content is greatly reduced.
The weldability of Q355NH weathering steel. If filler metal without atmospheric corrosion is used, the weld itself should be weather-resistant.
Prior to welding, the formed surface layer shall be removed to a distance of 10mm to 20mm from the joint edge.
