Effect of element Cu on 05CuPCrNi steel plate

The weathering mechanism of 05CuPCrNi steel plate is different from that of general corrosion resistant alloy. 05CuPCrNi steel plate belongs to high weathering resistance steel. Cu and other elements have the effect of electrochemical depolarization, which promotes the formation of a dense and firm protective film on the surface of 05CuPCrNi steel plate for a certain period of time, thus slowing down the corrosion of atmospheric factors.

The main purpose of adding Cu and P to 05CuPCrNi is to improve the corrosion resistance and strengthen ferrite by solution. Cu is the most important and widely used alloy element to improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of 05CuPCrNi steel plate.

The addition of Cu into 05CuPCrNi steel plate can form a dense copper oxide thin layer between the corrosion layer and the copper accumulation layer, thus slowing down and inhibiting the medium corrosion to the steel plate.

When Cu content is more than 0.15%, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of 05CuPCrNi steel plate increases slowly. P is the most effective element to improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of alloy elements. It is also an anode depolarizer. In the electrolyte solution, it can accelerate the uniform dissolution of steel and the oxidation rate of iron, and help to form a uniform corrosion layer on the surface of 05CuPCrNi steel plate, which has a clear boundary with the inner rust layer, thus improving the corrosion performance of 05CuPCrNi steel plate.
