Corrosion Resistance of 35CrMo4 Steel and Its Improving Measures

35CrMo4 steel is a low-alloy steel, mainly used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering components, with high strength, toughness and wear resistance. Its chemical composition contains about 0.3% to 0.4% carbon, 0.6% to 0.9% chromium, and small amounts of elements such as molybdenum and manganese.

35CrMo4 steel has certain corrosion resistance because it contains alloy elements such as chromium, but corrosion may still occur in some harsh environments. The following measures can be taken to improve the corrosion resistance of 35CrMo4 steel:

1. Surface treatment: Sandblasting, polishing, chrome plating and other surface treatment methods can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of 35CrMo4 steel.

2. Coating protection: Coating treatment on the surface of 35CrMo4 steel, such as spraying anti-corrosion paint, galvanizing, electroplating, etc., can form a protective film and improve its corrosion resistance.

3. Reasonable selection of materials: Select appropriate 35CrMo4 steel materials in different environments, such as stainless steel with good corrosion resistance.

4. Control the use environment: Avoid long-term use of 35CrMo4 steel exposed to moisture, acid and alkali and other corrosive media, which can prolong its service life.

5. Add trace alloy elements: it can improve the chemical stability and corrosion resistance of 35CrMo4 steel.
