A242 Type 1 steel plate application and advantages

A242 Type 1 steel plate is used to make structural components, such as containers, railway vehicles, derricks, seaport buildings, petroleum production platforms and containers containing hydrogen sulfide corrosion in chemical petroleum equipment. A242 Type 1 steel plate is widely used in the welding and manufacturing of various transport vehicles, construction machinery, towers and structural parts.

A242 Type 1 steel plate is usually used in smelting (converter, electric furnace microalloying treatment argon LF refining low superheat continuous casting (feeding rare earth wire) controlled rolling and cooling).

In the smelting process, A242 Type 1 steel plate scrap is added to the furnace together with the furnace charge, smelting is carried out according to the conventional method, and deoxidizer and alloy are added after tapping. After the molten steel is treated by argon blowing, it is cast, and the molten steel after argon temperature adjustment is passed through the continuous casting machine.
The addition of rare earth elements to A242 Type 1 steel plate can purify A242 Type 1 steel plate and greatly reduce the inclusion content.
